Megan Giddens, Clinical Director in Florida

Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 18 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment, clinical supervision, and community prevention initiatives. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida (“Go Knights!”).

From the beginning of her career, Megan has been passionate about working with adolescents and families facing complex mental health and substance use challenges. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in achieving meaningful and lasting change. Megan is committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. She works collaboratively with adolescents and families to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

Megan believes in building strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, empathy, and respect while tailoring treatment to each individual and family’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. Prior to joining Lotus Behavioral Health, Megan served as an LCSW with Orange County Government. Before that, she was the Assistant Director of the UCF Substance Use Disorders Clinic, where she provided dual-diagnosis treatment for students and led a clinical training program for interns.

In addition to her work at Lotus, Megan serves as an expert witness and consultant for the Florida Department of Health, reviewing cases to help ensure adherence to clinical standards of care. She is passionate about advancing ethical, high-quality behavioral healthcare and mentoring the next generation of clinicians. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and two rescue dogs.
