Making the decision to seek help for your teen is not easy, but it’s one of the most important steps you can take. At Lotus Behavioral Health, our admissions process is designed to be clear, supportive, and as stress-free as possible for both you and your teen.
Our Admissions Process
Before You Arrive
Once you’ve connected with our admissions team, we’ll guide you through a few simple steps to prepare:
Initial Assessment Call:
We’ll gather information about your teen’s mental health, substance use history, medical background, and current needs.
Insurance & Paperwork:
Our team will help verify benefits and walk you through any required forms.
Pre-Arrival Guidance:
You’ll receive instructions on what to bring, what to leave at home, and how to talk to your teen about treatment.
If you’re unsure how to prepare your teen emotionally, our admissions specialists are here to help you approach the conversation.
Arrival Day
Arrival can feel overwhelming for both parents and teens. Our team is trained to make this transition as smooth and supportive as possible. Here’s what typically happens:
- Warm Welcome: Your teen will be greeted by our staff and guided through the check-in process.
- Belongings Review: Items will be checked to ensure safety and compliance with program guidelines.
- Introductions: Your teen will meet members of their care team and begin getting oriented to the environment.
- Parent Check-In: We’ll answer any last questions and explain next steps for communication and involvement.
Saying goodbye can be emotional. Our staff will support both you and your teen through this transition with empathy, compassion, and a commitment to emotional safety.
Admissions Evaluation
Within the first 24–72 hours, your teen will undergo a thorough evaluation to help us implement a treatment plan tailored to their developmental and recovery needs. This may include:
